Thinking about pursuing an education and not sure how you will fund it? Even though grants and loans are available, sometimes they may not cover all cost. Applying for scholarships will help resolve this problem.
There are over 1.5 million scholarships available to help you pay for college. The funds are donated to help others achieve their academic goals. They have all types of scenarios in which you can qualify. Some are:
Residency
Age
Location of School
Ethnic Background
Major and many other things that people come up with!
Organizations normally issue scholarships to those who are pursuing the same mission and have the same values. They require you to fill out a scholarship applications while others have you write a scholarship essay also.
When brainstorming your Scholarship Essay you should list the following:
Education & Career Goals and what influenced you to choose these goals.
Plans on how you will contribute to society once you accomplish your goals.
Financial needs and why you feel you would be the best candidate.
Just like any other essay, you should have an introduction, body and closing.
Are you familiar with any scholarships in your area? List some.
What “sales pitch” inspirational story do you have that may impress the ones whom are issuing the scholarships? Everyone has a unique story to tell. What is yours?
